what is optimum temp range for an E50

I have this lazer temp gauge i use to tune my nitro rc cars. I have been using it to read the temp of the cylinder after a good bashing on the motor. I have no more four stroking after i finally put a 50:1 mixture in it. My max. temp reading has been under 200 degrees. CLoser to 145-150. I use Koltz R50 Synthetic oil. Could i go a tad bit leaner? I am on a stock piston and rings and want it to last this season but, plan to kit it over the winter. What is the hottest i want to be after blasting for an hour or more. I tend to hold WOT for a good minute. I guess i just don't know how long you can hold them wide out without worring also. One mile? five miles WOT? these readings have been only after about a half hour of blasting around the hood.

Should i be taking readings after longer rides? Questions...questions..

thanks for any posative reply.

I think you'd be better off with one that screws in under the spark plug

Well of course i would Mike. But for now this is what i have and it cost more than the one that you "put on the plug"( which i have read many bad reviews about.) I tune $250 Nitro Motors with the one i have and am confident in it. My Nitro motors, which are 1/32 the size of an E50, run in the 200F-220F range. Lets say i HAD one that went on the plug... what should the max reading be, before i need to worry. (edited)

The problem is its 2 completely different and unrelated numbers. Look up the thread kstar perfectly tuned. That guy was blasting all over the place and reading sub 200s. I have the trailtech and blast wide open for 20 minutes and will read 365. 375+ seems to be the caution range and over 400 gets you into the danger zone. (edited)

Yeah. I made a joke about eating ass holes. Yummy.

Re: what is optimum temp range for an E50

my kstar e50 hits 450-460 regularly with no issues. my dr kit honda hit 500 yesterday and I puled over and shut it down to cool it off before it melted

Re: what is optimum temp range for an E50

450 on a kstar? what the fuck. dr kit hobbit 500???? I hope you're joking.

When ever I hit 500 my temp gauge says reads a flashing MAX

450-500 degrees is just too high. re tune/time for lower temps

A local kid seized his kstar at 458 degrees.

I got no bike now that goes over 390 degrees.

I can't wait until they come out with a 74cc watercooled puch kit
