Puch Hi Hi Head on a non-Puch engine

Question: When you use a Puch Hi Hi Head on a non-Puch engine, what do you do to center the head when the studs on the non-Puch engine are a smaller diameter?

I test-fittted one of these heads on my Yamaha engine, and I bet I could move the head 2-3mm in any direction...

I did search, but didn't come up with anything.

even on my puch i can slide it around untill i tighten it down. Just make sure your piston isn't going to bitch slap that beast.

you can make shims out of brake line or something similar.

your Yamaha has studs smaller than m6? doesn't sound right.

They're M6 studs. I ended up making spacers from very short pieces that I cut off of some metal fuel line I had laying around. I had to reduce the outer diameter of the tubing a little so that the spacers would go into the head, but once that was done they worked fine.

After all that, I ended up not using the head after all. The compression was way over 200 PSI, and that thing runs hot as it is, so I didn't want to risk running it any hotter...
