tecno boss (fuego) modification

Simon Picard /

I want to modify my jamarcol fuego pipe (tecno boss).

I am aiming at more low end, but I could consider hi end also.

What you guys have ever done to it? From insulating pipe, changing length of the header, modifying expansion chamber.

If you could post pics and result it would be great!

Also, this is my setting:

70 kstar

15mm Bing

Hi comp head

3 shoe clutch + blue spring

15 x 40 gearing

Case matched

And of course..... Jamarcol fuego pipe !!

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

i have heard of people drilling out the rivets and removing the endcap to modify the exhaust. what they do exactly is beyond me. Still interested. MOAR INFO!!!!!!!!!.

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

I pulled the 3" of header out of the inside of the pipe and it didn't seem to make much difference

^ I did that too though it wasn't quite 3"

And ya nothing noticeable .

Elongate the header for more low end shorten header for more top less low End

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

Chop the center of the cones where there is no belly, and add a piece of pipe to lengthen it (around 2-3in long belly) it's about a 3in OD pipe.

That will give you more low/mid if you're looking for it.

Big bellies for big low!

jbot.... This is what I am looking for. I might use steel sheet!

Any body have ever done it?

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

I add belly to many pipes, my first pipe I hacked together I added a 5 inch belly section and some other transitional cones and whoa! Huge low power.

You're basically lengthening the total tuned length, and making it a harder hitting pipe too.

will you only make the belly longer or also larger??

Do you have pics of your works??

Ken I thought it was the other way around. Short for low end and long for top end? Maybe not

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

This was after it had been chopped many times. That's how you learn. Chop, change, weld, test.

It's now a centerbleed, and though ugly, it performs pretty damn good.

definetly it is short header for top end

And long header for low end.

Thanks jbot..... Looks like I have a new project for the next days :)

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

Well ya learn something new everyday. I cut and welded a magnum header to my proma gp and I made it longer than before and my top end increased alot. That must have to do with the diameter being so large now. Time to cut it up and reweld and see what I can come up with. Thanks

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

anybody knows if tecno boss is restricted ??

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

No it isn't but trying to exhaust a 70cc through that puny pipe is going to slow top end. Leave the stinger intact and add a sidebleed

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

What if you rewelded the pipe back at the 3 inches that was inside..would you get more low to mids..

Re: tecno boss (fuego) modification

Unfortunately I can't remember how much longer I made the header.

I just removed the part in the chamber I didn't change the length of the pipe at all
