My moped was running at about 28 mph. I could have sworn I had an extra 2 or 3 at least before I put this new front sava on a few weeks ago, but that's neither here nor there in relation to the latest upgrades I guess.
Anyways it was going about 28 recently, with stock everything. I made a thread asking for the best way a newb should start to get a little more out of their stock moped.
After reading a lot of great advice from experienced members I decided on a tecno circuit pipe, hi flow metal air filter, and a bigger jet (I got 3 new jets, starting at 2 sizes bigger than stock and going up).
I had a pretty experienced member from the boards help me get all this stuff going today, as well as helping with some general tuneup (new clutch cable, adjusting the chain etc.).
After tuning and getting everything on, here are the pros.
1. Sounds a million times better.
2. Runs a lot smoother.
3. Slight increase on the low end, but still not great, sucked donkey balls before the new exhaust and filter however, so it is technically an improvement.
Now the cons.
1. I gpsd myself at like 29 mph. I heard all these people talk about how much speed they gained with as little as adding a new air filter, nevermind the supergains I heard from people who got the new filter, pipe, and jet.
It did feel slightly faster at first, but I think because it runs so smooth now, that it may have just made it seem faster.
Any ideas why there is no speed gain with these upgrades?
