been working alot hours here and there. i changed out the original carbon fiber 2 reed intake to a dio 4 reed...it turned out a good deal. i got extra 3-4 mph..i also installed the new cdi and it gave me another 3+ mph or so. so were gettin there.. chug a chug a chug a chug a....
i also changed out my custom made intake adapter(spacer) with an aluminum one from 77mopeds..i did find a small crack in the one one i fab'd so that is a reason for lack of throttle response..
Next i spent hours with my modified race variator and factory one where i cut rectangles on all sides... i tried several weight variations, about 10+ times or so.. and i got down to 3- 5gram weights at the moment.. takes off like a freakin dirt bike its awesome... until i hit 30+...
the way i understand it, once you hit your rpm boost from the pipe/variator max , the carb should take over and continue to run up the rpm's. so thats where im at now..
i've done several carb changes in the past, but thats when i was having intake issues.. now back to the drawing board...i still have throttle left, i'm trying to figurre out how to raise the rpm's to get more mph.....
any ideas???let me know..now im running a 20mm china carb..premix 40/1
i think i need a good quality 2stroke carb. to get higher rpms.. i've tried 3-4 china carbs over the coarse and all seem to bugger out quickly.. i think there's something to the 2 stroke carbs vs 4 stroke and atomizing!!.. all the carbs i have dont specify , so im sure they are 4 strokers.. i never realized until doing some research that there was a difference...
let me know your thoughts and any ideas, where u might try to go from here... i have to say i'm tickled to get mid to high 30's but with all the mod's ive done. i really should be hittin 50 or close... i think mostly its the carb and a little variator weights thats holdin me back...Damn im gettin close now....if only i was 120lbs instead of 210, that might help my top end...
* next i thought about putiing in red 2000 clutch springs.. i have 1500 yellow in now and red main spring.. i also want to install a high compression head at some point, but need to do more research first.. i'd like to modify the factory one (if possible)... and maybe try a bx31.5 if they make it. or another belt a bit longer- 1/2- 1" than than the bx31 and see what happens!! if you know what make and number that is let me know???...
bring it on...give me your input you crazy scooter mf's..... once i get this pegged, i will have alot of input for others doing this jig....without bleeding there wallet dry like i have...experience, there is no replacement for it.....
