Okay so on a whim I decided to look into the vario not opening problem. The arms won't push the cheek of the vario out as far as it will go. As I stated before, I thought a spacer should be glued in to take up the space. I don't have any good glue so I just did this...
I just cut out this spacer out of a old gift card, and wedged it in there. I eye balled the measurements. It works, full variation!
