Hello, I'm brand new to the army and wanted to share my current setup and see what I could do to improve upon it.
I've gotten some good ideas from searching through the archives, but I thought I would throw this out to whoever would be interested in giving their two cents...
First let me say, I'm really trying to avoid kitting until I can see just how much I can get out of my stock setup and if I'm happy with that.
I have a `77 Bianchi Snark (25mph V1)
So far I've added these mods:
- Mamba exhaust
- 14.12 Dellorto (from 14.9 stock)
- EMGO Dellorto SHA Air Filter
- 54 Jet (Perfect plug chops)
- Drilled out the intake manifold to 11mm/0.5in (was slightly worried about over boring)
Right now I'm hitting a wall at 30mph (GPS) in the flats and wishing for 40mph. The forums seem to indicate that I should be doing something more akin to 35-45mph...
Is it possible that people are overestimating their speed?
What more can I do to increase my top end? I live in San Diego and I'm hitting a lot of hills so I'm sort of reluctant to change the front sprocket and bog up the valleys.
I snagged a stock head from ebay to potentially have it milled down for higher compression, but I'm looking for ideas on how far I should mill it. Anyone?
I read a thread where someone suggested milling the jug, but I'd rather buy a jug to mill than to mill the one that's on my bike and run the risk of fucking it up. Can't find one anywhere though...
