I come back with bad news. I got some jets today, a 54 and a 56. I put the 56 in first and I could tell it was too rich. Tried the 54 and it ran better but it was significantly slower than the stock 52. I also widened up the holes on the filter cover. Man, I am doing something wrong.
I think I am going to remove the emulsion tube and actually drill press the carb to 14.6mm (or 31/64 in?) the size of my intake. Currently its ~14mm
One thing that I think might be holding me back is the cylinder intake is only 14mm or so. You think the 0.6mm difference is the problem here?
I am also thinking about widening the transfers and hope Mopagen can chime in about what he did with the transfers. Or anyone who has actually done this.
1. When widening the transfers how much should I go?
2. I am assuming I have to do the same with the case so they match, correct?
3. I hoped not to have to open the case to take out the guts. Is that possible or not? I've seen people do it with putty around the crank, but I am leery of that idea.
