A55 port map and porting info

Did some searching and will probably put this on the wiki. Also did a port map of a stock jug since I couldn't really find one.

A55 wiki page: http://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Tomos_A55_Performance

This thread has good info on porting/tuning the stock carb from Jesse along with stock port durations: http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,2077859,2077971

Here's a guy planning on doing some A55 porting based off Jesse's suggestions: http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,2083094,2083094

Marvin Yee chimes in here on porting: http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,2084579,2084735

Good reading on ignition and general stockish a55 mods... http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,1870109,page=2

good stuff on porting and ignition here... http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,1962769,page=2

Wish the pictures in this one still worked. :( http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,2058434,2058774

Re: A55 port map and porting info

haha good old thread from years ago.

i put a small window on the tail of my piston intake side for more duration, and i just kinda went .5mm on the sides and front of the exhaust port and matched the outlet to my technigas.

it got a little more rpm.

The Pic of the Ports, is that for a Stock Cylinder? I have the AirSal 65 cc cylinder and have cleaned it up but do not want to raise the Exhaust hole and remove Bottom end! I want to make as MUCH power Possible using as low of RPMS as possible! I widen my Exhaust a MM on each side and I re-angled the direction of 1 side of the transfers by about .5 MM to keep the flow from directly hitting each other but now pushing each other up and forward. I raised the Bottom of the Piston Skirt on the intake side 1 MM and champered the edge to keep the Piston from snagging on the Port edge.

I am geared 28 / 22 and peak rev limited to 51.8 MPH. I was using a stock carb (74 main, 30 Idle 210 infuser and 3rd from the top needle and unifliter stuffed in the Modded Airbox with 9-3/8" holes on the Rear Bottom and sides) Tecnigas Next R Exhaust and 050 Squish Head running 150 PSI

I have bought a Dellorto 17.5 and plan to insrtall and jet it this weekend!! (edited)
