Ok here is the deal,
So bought this ped with these specs, i cant get this piece to idle. I have cleaned the carb 2 times. New gas new spark plug. What happens is I start it and then it idles super high whinds down and dies. I have messed with screws all the way in and slowly moved them out NO change. any advice???

Have you run a wire through the passage under the flat screw on top of the carb? If not, you haven't cleaned the carb. That's the passage that feeds the idle fuel flow, and it's the narrowest passage in the universe. I cleaned it and had carb cleaner flowing through it and it still needed to have a really tiny wire rammed through it to finally idle.

Turn the air mix screw 1 3/4 out and the idle speed screw all the way in. Make sure the idle screw is actually MOVING the throttle butterfly, if the mechanism is bent on top it won't do anything.
Dial back the idle speed screw until you have a good idle.
If it doesn't idle with the choke on and it set like this, something isn't cleaned right or you have a crank seal leak (most likely).

air leak. don't forget to check the crank end seals while your checking for your air leak.
Here is the proceedure from the manual
Get the bike started and warmed up
run the idle speed screw in until you get a fast steady idle
run the idle air mixture screw in and out until you get the highest idle speed
run the idle speed screw out until you get a nice steady putt-putt-putt
Repeat if necessary
What shaneb said is absolutely necessary if the above doesnt work
mightve also blown a seal or knocked around your timing.
ok checked for leaks good there, but i can not get this bitch to stay running even took the carb off agian to clean i did notice that the float seemed stuck so trying to fix that... thank you for all the replies
You popped off the ignition and the clutch to check under each? That's the only way to properly check those seals.
Anybody catch the 80cc metra kit? They made an 80cc kit for the hobbits? Where do I find one? I thought the biggest we could get was around 70cc.
If you get really fed up with it, then just get one of the shitty clone keihin's off ebay for ~25 bucks. I got one and now my hobbit runs fine, I can actually start it without the choke. I'd rather run the keihin, so now I know I need to get better at carb cleaning......apparently.
I'd just like to know where to get a metra 80cc kit for a hobbit!!
