... I've heard of milking a snake, but what do you have to do to it to get it's oil...??
leave that to crazy wayne.... 1k ports per cylinder, multibleed exhaust and snakes oil in the tranny box...............
naw, wayne is the man. i dont even have half the 2t knowledge he does. i mean he is crazy tho.
with 700mls of regular 10w 40 im able to get my ped well on the pipe in first, which is what i want. but what i hate is that when i slow down for intersection or a corner the thing sticks in top gear and lands me straight in bogsville when i wanne excellerate again. i almost have to stop to get it to shift back. fukn embarrasing
That's why you need something that will let you slip more with less fluid. Try nd30 or 40, I have good slip with it...others run all sorts of stuff.
or run less fluid with better springs, im working on scooter springs modification right now. Im looking for better material to work with it. Cause the cork cant handle the high engadgment polint.... 10w 40 is plenty slippery and lets the gearebox run quieter. Tomos sound fukn gay with a noisy tranny......
Gear noise is ain't so bad, straight cut gears are noisy.
... my Tomos is the noisiest ped in the club... scared me at first as I thought I screwed something up on reassembly. I'm used to it now and am approaching 1000 miles on the kit/rebuild. Like I said earlier, my mix right now is damn near perfect, holds high in 1st and downshifts properly. It might be the combination of the viscosities, not sure.
i shift around 18-19mph, sometimes less on the flats....
whats yr fluid dick?

oh. thanks evan. so pretty much the "race mix"
i did fix my gnarly shift w/ new sprag and a shim on my crank to give the clutch much less axial play.
Thanks for all the input.
I redid both clutches in my A35.
This was very easy to do, and actually a fast mod overall.
I used chrome leather from Mcmaster Carr (fast shipping too!)
8706K71
5/64" Thk, 1" X 36" Chrm Tanned Leather Strip, Gray
In stock at $10.05 Each
that was enough to do both clutches.
I went with steel weld epoxy (longer cure time).
Clean my shoes, put the epoxy on, lined the leather up.
Tightened my clamp on there tight.
Left it over night.
Today I trimmed the excess leather off.
It was really on there . .
They installed perfect fit (no shaving needed)....
I went for a ride and they grabbed fine all day long.
Hopefully it stays this awesome.
I don't know if this helps. Any type f fluid over 280 degree.. you in the danger zone.
Always glue the side edge also on the leather.
Yes, we know you get it a macmaster.
I have been running this for at least a year +.
Well,
I forgot to get the box when I am work this morning. So the prototype springs are here. Plan to install and test today.
I will get some pics of the springs. Increase %5 %10 over the green stock tomos pick up a nos/new one at htown and had the spring maker add extra tensil strengthen, silicone carbon ss spring wire.
I came (prematurely) (edited)
dude!! hook me up. 20x springs for sure...... nice

Well, It seems to be acting well with the ss springs and finalllly got that ignition taken care of so the full whipping.
Noo riding film yet, next time.
tomos (edited)
I def need some 10 over springs.
I def need some 10 over springs.
Where should I send my deposit?
And jeez Ed it must be cooler out there in the boonies, it's 100+ in the city.
evan, its hot but I guess not that hot.. long sleeve and long pants.
r&d is over on friday.. then I will see what can be done to get some made: light and heavy
The springs are... interesting.
so right now these springs a slightly tighter then stock springs right? they are raising your shift point
I bought a stock new green spring and had them increase the tension +5% +10%.
I need to get a gps asap. Me and a racing scooter was out playin last night 65mph..is what his gps he was doing I was 5 car length in front. Oh, only in nj that shit happen. No bsing here. Just the truth.
so right now these springs a slightly tighter then stock springs right? they are raising your shift point?
Well if there 5% and 10% over stronger then stock, what do you think sir?
GPS is over rated, if can a pass a car, and get up to speed quick enough and not blow up I'm happy.
evan,
if you was closer and the weather was cooler please come up and blast it around the block a couple time.
