can you use a35 kits on a3? whats the best kit to run on a a3?

I used the basic alukit with a mikuni vm20 carb, went over 50mph and had great acceleration.

My "hot rod" has an A3 case. Top end is no problem as described in the Wiki. You will run into some snags on the bottom end, though. If you change to an A35 crank, you will need to change the clutch pack and the right side outer case cover. Also, if you add the HPI CDI for A35s, then you have to do some modification to get the base plate to seat . Just for your info...

If I ever get my A3K built up from the box of bits, I'm aiming to stick the Alukit on after the small end bush swap.

Have I any real need to go with the A35 crank etc as I've heard the A3 trans is stronger?

Good thread Rob, I assume the weak link in the A3 from that is the conrod itself on a kitted motor.

got a35 and a55 cranks fer sale? swap up! and all the center bits of a a35 clutch so you can use yr superior a3 clutch!
