70cc airsal running temp...

I have a 70cc airsal that I put on my e50. Seized the first one I put on. Don't know why. Got a temp guage for this one, know I should keep the temp between 280-375, but doing 40mph, I will end up reaching 400

Dick Tortuga /

Had almost the identical situation with my Airsal Tomos. It's the timing... I'm currently running 1.4mm BTDC and dropping to 1.2 which corresponds to the degree that most hard cores recommend.

Re: 70cc airsal running temp...

I run at 1.45 deg BTDC on mine with cdi. I don't always have a temp gauge on it but have before and its consistently at 340-370, never hotter.

Re: 70cc airsal running temp...

Sweet! Thanks guys. What are you using to set your timings? I don't have a timing light, but do have a buzzeti style timing tool. I did adjust my timing a little last night, advanced it a little from where I had it to more of a centered position. Gonna ride to work today and see how she does.

Re: 70cc airsal running temp...

Without a timing light your just guessing what it is. Get a timing light on there!
