Hello to all.I am looking to put a 60 + mph speedo on my garelli ssxl.When i got it there was not one on it.So need a little help,How would i get it mounted and what would be a good speedo to use.Any help would be great i know it may sound like a dumb question but i have no clue where to start
Batavus made some 60mph speedos. Most of them mount in the bullet headlight and the cable runs out the bottom to the worm drive gear on the wheel. You would need to make sure that the drive and speedo match up.
I dont see a spot for the cable from the speedo to even go in to,Im not sure if the last person took it off as well.Its a 1977 super sport ssxl btw
There should be a part on the front wheel opposite side of the brake hub. That is the worm gear drive. The cable goes from there to the speedo.
Not sure about your bike but if you get a Bullet Headlight then you can drop a speedo in there for an easy way to mount it.
Check HERE to see the speedo drives and such. You could always go with a digital speedo like the trail tech.

Yeah there is no worm gear drive.Looks like if im gonna do it im gonna need to pick up a complete speedo kit.or maybe some different rims.
Post on the Buy sell forum for the drive, cable, and speedo for your bike. It may not be a 60mph speedo though.
If the drive gear looks the same as others like VDO or CEV then any speedo from that same company should match up with the drive gear from that same company.
