What is the best bang for buck carb for an Puch E-50 Airsal 65 kit (im using with a stock magnum head but will be milled down later to hi comp head)?
My friend has an 18 mikuni on a 65 metra I was looking at the 19 delorto phbg racing edition.
Whats a good carb to use with this kit that has a lil adjustability if i decide to go bigger later down the road?
and any comments/reviews on performance will be appreciated.

14mm Bing and matching square-port intake jetted around 68 or a 15mm Bing jetted 78-80 with a mesh filter. I wouldn't mill down the head, they run great with even a stock Maxi head, Magnum is even better and you'll just raise head temps unnecessarily. You'll get close to 50 without even a case-match.
I really don't know what you mean by adjustable, treats offers intakes for basically any kit on any bike with any carb. But its highly unlikely you'll be able to use the same intake with a bigger carb ( you can't even use a 15mm bing on a 14mm intake.....well you can but, a 14mm on a 15mm intake is okay) the casted intakes are cheap enough to just buy another size. Think about the old bing carb still works so if buy a new bigger carb, just take care of it and it will last forever. Don't mill your head it's just as cheap to buy a new countersunk o-ring from treats.
I'd go with a 14 or 15 Bing. Use the Wiki for setting starters & plenty of adjust-ability after that. You'll still have plenty of zip, for the street, and not have your mileage suffer so much.
Use Bing if you have or buy a Mikuni. Don't buy the PB&J bullshit, odds are you hate it.

Not true...I loved mine on a 65cc Arisal.
VM18 is a great carb if your just learning how to tune a multi-stage carb.
PHBG 19 is a great all around carb for most moped kits. If you understand how to tune them. Wilki has great info.
Most bang for your buck.....Run the Bing 14. (edited)
If he is asking about carbs he doesn't need a PBHG.
And Mikuni is the better regardless. Doesn't need all the bullshit because it rips dicks without it.

Face it dude if you have to ask this question you don't know what you're doing so use the stock carburetor till you know what you're doing then you'll know what carb to use.

I've noticed a lot of people recommend the 14or15mm Bings rather than the 17mm, any reason why or is it due to availability.
I must say my stock with 17mm Bing is not performing to ts best, running a little rich but I would rather be safe than sorry.

Love the 17mm Bing,
It works fine with puch cylinders, it came on 50cc magnum x and saber motorcycles
Can be bit harder to tune on booster port kits/some kits but try different atomizers and needles and if rich at idle then buddy hole the slide

Ken's buddy hole is just an air leak, no fule gets mixed in with it.
What you need to do is Notch either the slide or atomizer so some extra air we'll get by without drawing as much fuel.
But we'll still mix fuel and Air as it passes through the carburetor.
Ken keep your buddy hole thing in the closet where it belongs.
And the 17 millimeter Bings just don't work very well with piston Port timings greater than stock the back spitting makes them way too rich.
Let's just say they were used in the fifties and early sixties on Vespas and adopted by some moped manufacturers they never did TuneIn all that great.

I'm running a 19mm PHBG on mine and love it.
15 bing, 2.17 atomizer, 72 jet, 1 ring needle at 1 clip lean hits upper 40s with no case match.

What's ya running stock air box and pipe ?
72 jet is for 14mm Bing
