New kit new problems

I just put a alukit on my tomos targa lx. I also slapped on a 20mm mikuni carb with air filter and weak ends intake. When I went to reattach my bi-turbo I stripped out the threads in the new cylinder. Obviously I will have to use the heli-coil to rethread this. I still wanted to see if it would start up, I tried kicking it multiple times and it wouldnt start. Is this just do to the lack of back pressure from not having the exhaust on, or something else?

A ruined stud is cheaper than a ruined cylinder, do it right and use a torque wrench. Were you using allen bolts?

If could be many things..no choke for start up..wrong size jet/needle/idle jet..air leak..and last, but not least NO EXHAUST PIPE ON THE CYLINDER..

I dunno, my shit always starts without an exhaust on - it's just loud as shit and I wouldn't run it for more than a few seconds, or rev it.

I feel like an exhaust leak probably won't keep it from starting, but is still definitely not a good thing to have.

There was no arrow directing which side should be placed up on the piston. Is there another indicator for this?

I know that the mikuni comes stock with a 180 main jet. I have a 140, 150, and 165 jet. I will have to try them out.

Yeah that big window in the skirt must be facing the intake side

Did you put a kit on a tomos with a .. shit ton of miles is my first question.

If so .. replace the crankseals.. will give you more compression.

never run a 2t engine without a pipe for very long.
