You had literally... what... ten people say Proma, and you get a Jammy. Good work.

^^^ I was going to say the same thing^^^

I'd see if you could change your order.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

I said that I would not buy a loud pipe, I'm not looking for super high top speed, and my budget is low.

I stated my objectives in the first post. The Proma does not fit the bill

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

I've posted more than once about my displeasure with the sound levels of the Proma. I bought the jammy pipe a couple of years ago when you couldn't get a Proma, it's better than stock but... As far as your objectives, you might be OK on everything except acceleration. Do not ride somebody's kitted hobbit with a Proma or similar pipe.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

If you wan the red or the yellow springs. I have a some I never ended up using. Hit me up a email if you really want to buy some. Instead of waiting.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

There are louder pipes.

Who hell wants a quiet pipe.. is fucking crazy.

2t need to get the exhaust gases out..

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

proma is just not a top end pipe.. but is loud. Wear ear plugs.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

bah to all ya who say the proma is too loud. Try a honda gianelli circuit, or better yet a bennesar.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

There is no way to reason with people who like loud pipes.

but let me try.

1- They are illegal in Maine, and they are enforcing it now.

2- I don't want to be the dick who wakes up the baby and annoys the neigborhood.

3- The people who I would annoy are the people who pay my wages. (I own the building)

4- I've ridden bikes that make my ears ring, it's not worth it.

5- I don't care to show off at the rally, win the race, or be a bad ass mother fucker.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

There very good keys. Remarks.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

rock no longer shredding pow /

make a better muffler for the proma, that thing is tiny!

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

Loud Vs Quiet both have their pros and cons. I ride in the city- we've looked into the laws here and you really can't get in trouble for being too loud unless you are just sitting around revving out like an asshole. Also I hate when people in cars obviously don't know I'm there, or that I'm not a bike to just be zipped around. I like to be seen and heard. I also don't want to deafen anyone. I usually pull into the neighborhood slow like, and power down and coast the last block or so.

Aside from all that- from what I remember, Kim had a jammy on her hobbit for a bit and she's always been pretty notorious for having screamingly loud bikes.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

Yeah, I realize I'm rolling the dice on the jammy.

It might suck, and it might be loud. But I had to choose it over a known very loud pipe.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

If you find a quiet hobbit performance pipe that allows the motor to spin up like my proma, let me know.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

the proma is loud, the weakends is worse,

but if you make a extension and use a different silencer it can be a stealthy pipe

but who cares. its just a budget hobbit.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

Dan, how about a build update?

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

Downhill Harvey (OFMC) /

Yes, me too. I want to know how loud his pipe is?

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

Tate in Madison /

I think dude is in Maine.

Its going to be a piece before he can really get a good gauge on it.

Riding a kitted Hobbit in the snow/ice is a really bad idea. Ask me how I know.

Also you should really get yourself some 1k+ clutch springs.

You can get all 3 different sets/stiffness springs off of ebay for a totally of like 15 dollars shipped. Easily the best $5 performance part ever.

Re: Help me spend $ on my Hobbit

Before you bolt up the DR kit, dremmel out the exhaust port.

I could kick myself for not taking a "before" pic.

Seth has a new kit maybe he can post a pic of an unmolested

exhaust port.
