What puch kits can use a bing carb? Besides a polini?
What puch kits can use a bing carb? Besides a polini?
You can use any carb on any kit...
100% preference and tuning.
14-21mm for 70cc and under would be a good guideline. 21+ for stuff like the metra 80 and gila.
damn it, I misread the question.
yeah bing would fit anything as long as you have an intake to go with it. Don't use it on something big.
dude get a 77 cheapo kit and vm20 its a pretty killer set up.
all the piston port kits will take a standard 14-15mm bing intake. reed valves u have to have a reedy type intake that fits a bing like the polini comes with.

can 50mph be done with a 15 bing and a 70cc kstar? (along with a rev-run)
would rev-run be a waste with that carb?
Who knows why not try it. If you can you can if not bigger carb.
Isn't the 70cc K-Star usually considered more of a bottom-end kit? Like, just out of the box, it has great torque, but it won't necessarily get you up to 50? I know they can with porting, but I'm not sure about out of the box -- hopefully someone else who knows more can chime in on that. With a good pipe like the rev-run, though, that would probably be a lot more likely than with something like the Boss.
Yea I'll get some porting for it for top end gains...I was just wondering if the 15bing limits me to like 45mph...not sure i want to step into the world of the PHGB
I get to 48mph on the flat with a unported kstar 70cc 14mm bing techno circuit pipe and 56mph with polini 2 stage reeds 15mm bing estoril pipe. if you are jetted correctly bing is a great carb
oh sweet, sounds like I got the right setup in mind then
Yeah, bings don't get the props they deserve.
14, 15, and 17 bings can hang with any of the plug and play kits.
Most people hate on them because they either can't tune them right or they have only ever had old leaky 12mm bings that needed a rebuild and had a tiny emulsion tube.
I have a 17 bing on my Kstar with a proma circuit and it gets up.
Its more of a bike built for acceleration, but it still tops out in the mid-upper forties.
i go 50 - 55mph with a 14mm bing. case matching makes a huge diff tho. im running a metrakit 65cc. i think its a great kit but twice the price of kstar
my buddy runs a metra also, wiht a 14mm and he hits 40 mph with high comp head, no porting, and stock pipe. 18x45 gearing
i think with case matching and a high comp head with proper jetting and u can make it to 50 no prob with a 14mm bing. 18x42 gearing.
I have a kstar for my puch with a delordo carb (21mm) with a bullet pipe and my top speed is about 47-48mph. I bought them in a pack from treats... Super happy
By what i can tell the treats and the 77 kits are close to the same kits but then now. The 77 kits compair to the, airsal and kstar. If you blow your piston up all you need is a airsal piston and your good.
euro kids love the kstar, cheap and i guess it's a good porting candidate and pretty easy to make a real fast cylinder out of. I get mid 40s with a case matched unported airsal, boss, and bing 14.
