It may not be the crank. Get a caliper and measure the case recesses that the bearings are pressed into. See if they are out of round. Also see if your crank is straight... I have a feeling that it may have been warped or put out of alignment. Its hard for me to speculate without seeing it. Got to town on measuring things to check for wackiness. Godspeed.
