Yeah, I get the process and everything; I have a feeler gage and the timing tool, Just thought it might be a little easier to get to everything than it is...

do you guys think the hub of the magneto gets worn enough that you need to re-calibrate when you switch to a new one? in other words, is there much variation in measurement from one to another? If not, I was considering cannibalizing one and leaving just a hub and enough metal to turn the engine over with... that way I could get stator and points set up perfecto real easy then swap out for the actual flywheel...

Thoughts?
