exactly. if you wanna put a non-moped engine on your moped, go ahead. and as far as moped laws go, who gives a shit, but if youre going to do an engine swap just strictly because you wanna shift, and yet you still want it to look like a moped that already looks like a motorcycle for some reason, then why not transplant an actually fast engine onto it? something in the 80-125cc 2-stroke range? that would be way more fun and the thing would smoke any bike out there.
lets put it this way. i have an MB5 with a bigger-than-stock carb and malossi reed block on a stock top end and stock pipe. i have 5 speeds and it'll hit about 53 on the flat.
most kitted bikes will still smoke my ass
ZA50s can keep up with me off the line.
unless you're going big, this project is completely fucking pointless and a waste of time.
