hm everybodys building hobbits this year. me too. the screws on my plate aren't countersunk, but my plate is about 1/2" thick so there's room to thread bolts into before hitting the case..continuing into the case. i'll find a picture here somewhere.. consequently i had to mod the frame extra because the manifold sits a bit higher than most of yours.
MIKE: DANGER: bewaaaaare of subframe twistage and begnarlment when cutting the airbox out like that. i did that to my first subframe and that instantly became a weak spot and several welds broke after taking corners. result=twisted rear suspension. i would suggest reinforcing it before doing too much riding?
i wonder..is anybody making stuffers for their dio manifolds to take up some of that extra area before the reeds and keep it at a straight 24mm? velocity would surely be improved...i thought about it
