I'm about to buy some new tires and tubes, but I have no idea what size to get. I want to go wider.
17x2.5 to big for me? or should I stick just get a set of 2.25's and call it a day?
Also suggestions on which tires i should get are welcome.... Thanks Guys

you can definitely fit 2.5s in there, but you might not be able to run fenders anymore. in fact im pretty sure you wont be able to.

thats the problem with those old smaller puch fenders, they arent very accomodating to change.
On my recently finished swinger1 build I used snowflakes rims with 2.5" gazelles. Barely fit the rear swingarm with the axle all the way back in the slot. I don't run fenders though. Might try some chrome giant magnum sized ones eventually. I do believe that will, just barely, all fit together.

keep in mind, a 2.5" gazelle is comparable to like a 2.75" hutchinson...gazelles run big.
Get some 2" tires.
They're fun to ride on.
im running 2.25 gazelles on my swinger 2 and they barely fit on the front. the back could maybe fit a 2.5, but then again you have a rigid so its probably different. some grinding of the front fender is required to even get 2.25s to fit!! stay clear of the 2.5's in my opinion
Swinger2 swingarm is identical to a maxi swingarm. Rigid version has bit more room.
I rode 2" all last year. Great. Unless yer a fat arse like me.

rigid "swingarms" are way wider than the normal maxi.
normal maxi swingarm 2.25 is MAXIMUM and its a tight fit.
on my rigid freespirit, i tried sliding my mb5 wheels in with 2.75 18" gazelles on them. they were a really tight squeeze, and i couldnt fit it in with the axle, but the tire itself fit right in there. i think you could run 2.75s in there if you had 16" wheels no problem. 17s would be a stretch.
