Side Gaping = faster wear?
I side gaped the spark plug on my 78 free spirit, stock/slightly ported with a techno bullet. I just checked the plug after 200 miles, and the electrode is wasted; edges rounded all the way around, and I had to close the gap to get it to where I originally gaped it at .018. It looks like the combustion is really good, and I noticed a more of a brightness in the sound of the motor than actual torque. Does side gaping cause a plug to wear out more? Or do I need to try a different gap. or just not mess with side gaping.
