With minimal changes on the stock set up?
With minimal changes on the stock set up?
ever thought about de-restricting the stock pipe?
What could I expect? Ive seen something about it but I have no clue what it means.
Found this:

What model is a Pinto closes to?
best results for minimum work = 14mm bing / tecno estoril
Agree with jacob, 14 bing and Estoril
in denver i heard very very very good things about the Jammy with a stock setup. apparently its like an instant 8mph.
Thought about the jammy... what could I expect from the Estoril and 14?
that setup should get you in the mid-high 30s on a totally unmodified stock cylinder...
Estoril will be your friend.
I have a 14 bing and a Proma GP.
Pulls real hard.
Probably less top end than with an estoril but feels good man.
i just have a natural distrust for stamped pipes, i've seen too many blow out at the seams.
Don't forget to get a better filter.
On a pinto you can just take the stock filter, take it apart in half and just clamp some foam onto the open end. Even like air conditioning filter or pantyhose will work.
But yeah in any account you are going to have to upjet. I am sure you know that, but thats where the most power comes from, getting the jetting.
there's actually some good info on puch pipes on the wiki. it will tell you what's available, nd what each pipe will do for you.
I know people tend to think of this as a Tomos pipe, but I love the Tecnigas Next on my Pinto 2.
Proma GP, best pipe for stock set-ups.
Estoril gets in the way of the pedals.
I was just thinking about this... The Techno Circuit is a really good pipe for stock setups too...
Your Pinto uses the E50 engine, which is one of the most common and easily modified moped engines. If you see pipes or kits or carbs or just about anything else that will work on a Maxi, it will work on your Pinto. I guess the petcocks are a little different, but you can even make those interchangable in a pinch.
i'm running a maxi petcock on my pinto, no leaks. although running an actual pinto-designed petcock is better since the switch sits vertically instead of horizontally. either works, maxi works in a pinch but id go for the right petcock. make sure you get the most expensive one you can, ive had bad luck with cheap pinto petcocks springing leaks.
p.s. listen to your engine and make sure its not dying for a rebuild. if it runs smooth and relatively quiet (no crankcase noise), id just go for it. if it has a distinct gravely/vroomy sound coming from the engine itself i'd rebuild it.
proma GP IS a very good choice for a stock setup, works good with kits too. people dont like the pipe but personally its an improvement over the boss. boss is good for a stock setup too though. estoril is great if your bike is lacking low end. no matter what though with a bigger carb and pipe (done right) youll be at least in the mid-30s no problem with stock gearing. to get more low end power when gearing up, think about a different clutch setup, or tune your 2-shoe to engage later.
Thanks for all the replies, I actually got the pinto running on my own ( I have 2) .... I am grinning ear to ear right now!!! But I have encountered a new problem... Check my post under repair "Pinto Bog"
ash.... you need to let me port that shit... you get the bits, i'll bring the dremil... fo Sho...
i have a boss you can use till you get something else. You will definitely need to order jets though. Man, if you have any Q's don't hesitate to call me. I don't know everything, but I can help ya out some, lol.
