basically what that article i linked you to says is that the mykitech cases shown on the link we've been kicking around in the last couple months is basically a big reed block welded to a set of stock cases that have been hacked. you can see evidence of this in that picture in that thread. maybe elliot and some of the other '77 dudes that have actual experience with this case can clear this up a little.
the inlet on the polini cases is plenty big, and the reeds are considerably larger than those normally adapted to puch polini 4 petal setups, so while you arent at a disadvantage compared to what everyone else has access to, its not exactly next level stuff anymore.
a couple things to note about the polini cases, particularly in use with other cylinders is that at times the cylinder skirt will protrude into the inlet area. you can see this in the photo that i ripped off mosquito fleet ryan's blog.
he's running the same setup that i am (polini cases, 50cc malossi G2 cylinder). i'm pretty sure that should just be hacked off. also, you can see the lump in the inlet area created by the cylinder stud. this probably interrupts flow a bit too.
