I was helping someone build an e50 last night, and they were putting on a metra 65. We put on 1 metal base gasket and slide the cylinder on and the piston sticks out at least 3mm above the top of the cylinder. The piston came out enough that the piston ring stuck on top of the cylinder. Even with 3 metal base gaskets, the dykes ring pops out at TDC. It looks like he will have to have at least a 4mm spacer made to replace the base gasket to get the piston to the right position. Anyone else encounter this? It this just the wrong sized piston?
