getting speed out of a za50

If you don't want to flip your clutch just yet, all of this stuff is surprisingly easy to do, going from easiest to hardest/most tools required/cost:

- overfill your transmission fluid to about 12 ounces or so to make it shift later, also try using thicker oil to enhance this to your liking

- get a foam air filter like a K&N or UNI Pod (note, the UNI will require getting a cheap length of radiator hose and a few hose clamps at your local auto store)

- get a new exhaust (proma gp is a good one for stock cylinder)

- get a bigger intake manifold (the ZA50 requires TALLER ONES than the E50, the only stock ones were 12 and 14mm, if you have a 14mm, as I believe the 2HP do, just deal with it it's totally fine)

- get a bigger carb (bing 15 for example)

- pull your head, sand it down to increase compression or get a hi (or hi hi) compression head

- pull your cylinder and match your exterior intake and exhaust ports to your intake manifold and exhaust pipe header

Harder stuff that can get freaky and I haven't done yet:

- pull your cylinder, do a port map (search the site), and very mildly dremel/file your cylinder interior ports based on what people say in threads about puch port mapping (again, search the site)

- stuff your engine case full of silly putty (search) and grind your transfers down to match your cylinder better

- open your engine case and flip the clutch to make it shift later, if overfilling the transmission fluid didn't do what you wanted

When you order all these new parts, order a NICE BIG RANGE OF JETS because no one is going to be able to tell you what the hell you are going to need, get like everything from say, 64 to 84 because I'm placing a third order for a jet range and let me tell you it's annoying as all hell.
