Just cause mine blew up, doesn't mean yours will. I would just start on the safe side, and spend some time tuning it. Then, at least if you go to change your timing or other aspects of your setup, you will have a good place to base the changes off of.

And yes, it sucked bad when I blew that hole in my piston, it was two days before Kzoo rally last year. Had to NDA in some parts and pull the last min. tuning just to ride it at the rally.
