HA, "too old and scared to find out"... I'm turning 63 in March and building an almost identical motor to the one you described. Yes, the gears are lighter in the A3, but I don't think I'll be cracking them as I am not a burn-out, wheelie-hopping kid anymore. I concur with the racing crank with the roller bearing and am using one, too. I just want to keep up with the club guys on a ride, not a race.
