I run a stock 50v with the A fast cylinder, and want to upgrade my carb to a 15.15. I was lookin on 77 and they have those delorto clones, and i was wondering if anyone has any feedback on how well they do.
also what exhaust would you recomend?
im hoping to port and get my top speed up to 40 (its around 33 now), but have decent low end and hill climbin. is that possible with a carb/exhaust/port?
With porting you can get to 40. It's not worth getting a pipe unless you kit it. You won't be able to rev high enough to utilize the G3 or whatever pipe you want. The stock pipe doesn't really provide anything other than a silencer though so a G3 would look pretty cool and I guess help a bit. I have a 15.15 SHA on a slightly ported Moby (A cylinder) and I push 40mph. The lowend is good, but not amazing.
I've been pretty happy with my clone carbs. The cheapest of which was $13 shipped (new). I like the shims that come with the clones a bit better. The air adjustment screw is pretty cool too. Sometimes the main jet that comes in it is unmarked, but that's no biggie. My Runtong ($13) came with a bad choke release, and the plastic cap on the top was kinda lousy but functional. so I just pulled it out and unhooked the choke return spring so that it could just stay where I left it. Not all the parts cross over from Dellorto however. The floats will not interchange as the posts that hold the pivot are a different height. The throttle slide from a Dellorto did not fit either. The Jets seem to be all the same, and that's your main concern.

with the 15.15 clones on 77 i should just use the same shorty intake i would otherwise right?

i think you have to grind fins on the stock shorty, but then i heard there are two types of shorties, one fits, one hits... i dunno.. i think the Spaco 13:13 is a better fit, and might have about the same performance.
Avoid the clones. I thought otherwise once- until I finally coughed up for the real thing- the quality difference and performance were quite noticable.
Clone sha is probably ok, but stay away from clone phbg. yuck
