this is th second time its happened to me. ill be blastin and like ill slow down and cruz and then my exhaust gasket falls the fuck apart. i blew the one that came with my treat kit, and a cork gasket. now i put a metrakit gasket in there but its a tad bit leaky. anyone have the same troubles and found a remedy?

You want to get the exhaust gaskets that have a thin layer of metal in between the two paper-ish gasket material layers. You just missed out on getting some of this material in bulk from Treats.

I spray mine with the copper spray gasket stuff on both sides.
Let gasket dry a little, then torque in 1/3's.
Or cut one out of an aluminum foil box. It has a thin aluminum layer on each side. Sounds crazy but I got it to work.
you could always use the old piece of glass and sandpaper trick to make sure the header flange is actually flat. Try to keep your sandings out of the pipe and clean it out before you use it.
take a file to the exhaust flange on the pipe and make sure its flat.
..and make sure that the pipe mounts cleanly. I've had problems with my rear pipe mount being too high or low, and putting uneven stress on the header flange, which blew my gaskets fairly regularly.
You guys are wasting your time, I make copper gaskets. They last forever and seal awesome as long as your flange is flat. Ask me how to get some:
