i have been busy repairing my car, and putting an entirely new wiring harness in it. i lost my main transportation when the car's wiring finally gave up the ghost and left me stranded with no driving lights, no headlights, taillights, brakelights, windshield wipers, and when it finally got bad, no fuel pump relay. so i had to repair and fix all of that.
since i didn't have the car to drive (spent this whole weekend/week fixing it between class etc) and I wanted to grab lunch with my buddies I took the gilarini blue bike. my roommate decided he would take his 125cc lifan 4 speed manual transmission yamaha razz and ride out with me. that thing is pretty freaking fast mind you, but i figured i would run up aside it to see how i could do. Keep in mind that thing eats my aprilia RS50 for dinner, even up top, and the aprilia is a mid 60's bike with a full tuck on the limiter in 6th gear.
i was completely blown out of my mind when we raced multiple times and the gilarini absolutely destroyed that thing each time. from a stop, from a roll, basically whenever we went, even me giving the motorcycle the move, the tomos murdered it every time.
in fact the bike ran like a champ there and back and everywhere. almost too well in fact. So i'm gonna pull it apart and inspect the clutches now before failure. I should probably look at the piston too, considering I welded it back together, hahaha.
I was really shocked at how fast the bike actually is. It feels way too smooth to be fast, but it is actually pretty damn quick. I need to get a real GPS and from there I will have some more concrete data as to how fast it really is. That or racing it against my derbi, once the rear wheel is fixed on the derbi.
