no, i don't have a portmap yet. I haven't even taken it for a top speed run yet.
I have taken it on the street though, and went and picked up an oil filter for my car's oil change at the auto parts store with the blue bike.
1. holy crap it's loud and crazy. the way the kt clutch grabs necessitates alot of throttle commitment because it doesnt like to slip really slowly. It rather you engage it all the way at the rpm it's calling for, by trying to rev past that rpm, and not slooowwwlllyyy creeping forward. So if traffic is creeping a few feet then stopping, then creeping some more.. that's what pedals are for.
2. if you engage the ktm and start rolling, and then let off the gas and coast, and then wack the throttle back open, the bike wheelies. EVERY TIME. the clutch engages that wickedly. So you better be leaning forward with this thing if you goose it from a 5 or 10 roll.
3. the shifting is obscene. it now feels and sounds like a variated bike. literally. it's also as smooth as my derbi now. I think the original crank i had was pretty torn up even before I put the ktm clutches in. I think the previous clutches failed and damaged that crank. hard to say, but now the thing is super smooht, and it's always in power. that whole "tomos 1-2 shift bog thing" doesn't exist anymore. the bike is fast.
4. I haven't topped it out yet, but it's revving higher than it has before, and is much smoother, and it feels like there's just tons of power everywhere. way quicker, smoother, snappier, more pissed off than before. With 28:20 gearing the bike is capable of doing 68mph. Will it reach that? If I datalog the engine rpm, i will have a direct accurate value of known speed based off of the gearing calculator i made coming right off the tomos gearing in the manual. Do I think it can pull that? I don'tknow. that seems like a bunch to be asking of this thing, but I've gone that fast on my Aprilia RS50 and I assure you this sucker is WAY faster than that. Will the aerodynamics of the RS50 make up for it's lack of power and torque compared to this snappy, pissed off, lightweight thing?? stay tuned next week...
When I put my LED head and taillights on this thing I'll start taking it for even longer rides and what not. I'll try and borrow my friend's digital camera hd video thing for a video or two as well.
