Re: Snowped,looking for studed tires
thanks for the ideas.
i have tried short pieces of nylon rope tied around the wheel and tire, it works not bad on snow, the problem is sliding on ice while turning and braking the rope has no grip on ice.
ive tried a long piece of rope once instead of the short pieces, the rope wore out and the rest of the rope tangled around and i had a hell of a time getting it off (i cut most of it with a torch and knife)
ive seen the race guys on lakes around here with their studs, the problem with them is that they are not allowed for street use, the fine for "illegal race studs" on motor vehicles driven on public roads is HUGE.
anyone know of "street legal studs"?
tire studs are legal here, racing studs and/or screws are not.
I have called tire shops, they think im crazy.
