phbg Question

💀Kim Jong illest💀 /

im asking this almost completely out of denial BUT...

if your idle jet to too big, will it make your bike idle too fast, or just it just make it run shitty

(i think i already know the answer, but maybe you can make me smile again)

Re: phbg Question

when my pilot jet was too big it would bog at lowend

idle fine

yeah, im just trying my hardest to convince myself i dont have an unfixable airleak.

Re: phbg Question

i went from a 45 to 48 and i could barely hold and idle, magnum basically ran like crap, especially in the low end.

Re: phbg Question

larger jets will "flood" the engine in turn bogging the engine, smaller jets will create lean-ness and rev up.

Re: phbg Question

hey sunset moto, did you end up getting a treat kit and make an exhaust header intake?

Re: phbg Question

Probably Fred /

I don't know your set up.( type of kit, intake, head ect. )but still you should turn the idle mixture screw ( the brass one) 1-1/2 turn out or so to start if it bogs at 1/8th throttle turn out if it still bogs turned all the way out go up on the idle jet size. Now if you start at 1-1/2 turns and and it four stokes at 1/8th throttle (kinda hard to tell the difference between bogging and four stroking ) then turn the screw in if it still four strokes all the way in go smaller on the idle jet size.

I meant pilot jet size

Re: phbg Question

Probably Fred /

The tuning is in this screw and the pilot jet size not idle jet like I said

thanks.

90% of my moped issues are caused by insomnia. i stay up till dawn fucking with shit, then im like, well, too late to sleep now, stay up another 10 hours and venture into insanity/genious mode.

then i make posts like this where ive gone stark raving mad over a problem. in THIS case, i thought i had an airleak on a motor i added material to, and flipped shit thinking it was terminal. what i needed was a pat on the head and someone to say, its ok dimentia boy, you dont have an airleak.

luckily, it turned out to be a snagged throttle cable that runs through the body. SCORE!

but now, yes i need a smaller idle jet, i fouling out at idle :/

this bike likes it LEEEEEEEEAAAAAN!

snarf snarf...
