I am putting together another V1 polini motor and have a few questions. This bike is for my girl so it doesn't need to rip. It just needs to be able to climb hills and get to 40ish mph. I have a bike now that has V1, polini kit, 16,16SHA, 15mm intake, uni pod filter, Mamba pipe (soon will be Benasser after I chop it up a little to make it fit) 11-36 gearing and does about 48 mph. It should be in the low 50's with the Benasser as it hits a little more up top.
Now with the next bike. It is a Lazer Sport 50 that does around 32 on the flats now with only a pipe that I made. I plan on just kitting it and keeping the stock 14.12SHA and either using the home made pipe or my mamba. The bike has 11-45 gearing with 17" wheels. My other bike has 16" so the gearing on the Lazer should be close to to my gearing. Has anyone used a stock carb setup on a kitted polini? I want to keep the side covers in place with this bike and a different intake will not allow me to. I will have to hack up the side cover for it to fit as the Lazer's intake comes out the side. The polini directions tell you to use the stock carb and I know it will hinder performance but will it flow enough air for the bike to run well with the kit?
