performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

So I am ordering (well trying to order) a 70cc cylinder kit as I need to replace mine since I can't seem to find a 2nd size cylinder to replace the one I've got. Anyway if I do this do I need a different performance pipe for that or is it the same one (only one) I have seen for sale a few places for the regular 49cc?

Portland, where you at? Lots of Hobbits in S.E. Come on a ride.

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

What the?

I don't even understand the question.

Come hang out.

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Wondering if I need a different performance pipe for the new 70cc kit I am buying than I would with the current stock 49cc. I would be riding but my motor shit on me and it will be about as expensive to replace the piston as it is for the 70cc kit so I said fuck it and I ain't putting it back together till I get the kit and the pipe so I only have to tear it apart once (hopefully)

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Uh, you want to run a kit with the stock exhaust? Nooooo... Get a proma (treatland.tv). Or better yet (according to what I read here) get a motomatic (motomaticmopeds.com).

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

why did your motor crap out?

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Holler at Quarterkick. They have a sick "NEW" pipe for the pa50 motors and they also have kits for those bikes. You will only have to pay shipping once! And, I bet if you asked nicely they would even throw you a sticker!!!

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

I have like 3 extra fucking Hobbit jugs with pistons in my garage right now, there bud.

If you don't want to get all crazy like I'll sell you one and even put it on your bike if you bring the thing over.

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Also what is this "Sick New Pipe" quarterkick has?

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Mike McScoutington /

I believe that it is a Proma Circuit? I can't recall off hand. It is a way higher quality pipe than the Proma that treats are offering and it mounts right up. These things came from Belgium or something crazy like that. Last I knew they only had one left. Its not up on the site yet. Stay tuned for more sick Honda pipes in the very near future coming from QK

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Have big grooves in the piston, zero compression and need the second size piston if I keep the same motor so I've already decided to go with the 70cc since I don't see how some extra balls could be a bad thing. Checked out the pipes at treatland and they also have (or will have soon) the 70cc kit so it looks like I should have it running again just in time for 9 months of rain

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

the new technigas promas are 1000% better quality than the OG stampings.

EVERYONE will agree.

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

So I am ordering this:

http://www.treatland.tv/hobbit-malossi-cast-iron-70cc-kit-p/honda-malossi-70cc-cylinder.htm

and this:

http://www.treatland.tv/honda-hobbit-proma-performance-pipe-p/honda-proma-pipe-hobbit-pa50.htm

and I have been told by most to jet and by some not to. Wtf? What should I ACTUALLY do? Also wondering what kind of power/speed increase I may expect

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Hey, those in the know. How much quieter are these new pipes?

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Raymond Rexroad /

Yes, you need a larger jet - a 92 would be in the ballpark.

You should also consider notching your variator, too.

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Notching variator?????Hmmm....explain...

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Check the wiki about notching. . . under honda.

They are wicked quiet and run great.

I wish more people would add to it.

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

If you want to save some money, create an account at 1977mopeds.com. They are having a holiday sale and once you log in you can see the sale prices. 15% off everything and free shipping on orders over 150 bones. the pipe is 93.50 and they have two kits in stock right now (parma and mec eur). They have the Malossi on order but it won't be in til prolly tuesday...after the sale is over.

50 with 50 on a stock modified PA50 II. Man GPS is cool as hell...

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

So my broke ass can only afford the kit this paycheck and not the pipe. It doesn't harm anything to have a 70cc with a stock pipe right? I want to build and ride it while waiting for the pipe any reasons I should wait?

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

Mike McScoutington /

You will be super restricted by the stock pipe. you will be further ahead to go with the pipe first and then get the kit when $$$ is better.

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

I`m running the stock/modded pipe with a piton kit on my 82 Express with no problems....Sounds/performs quit nicely.....I cut off about a 1" or so off the tail pipe ,then drilled out the muffler with the biggest drill bit that would fit in the tail pipe.....Stock air box, and modded exh. and runs up to about 35 mph......

"I have like 3 extra fucking Hobbit jugs with pistons in my garage right now, there bud."

You still willing to part with one of these? Being told by people more knowledgeable (than myself) to stick with the 50cc and increase my power/speed in other ways in order to keep it reliable. Well as reliable as a thirty year old moped can be.

Re: performance pipe on 70cc pa50II kit

If you would like a good laugh, pull your pipe (paul, the pipe on a Hobbit is totally different from the Urbie) and measure your exhaust header. The thing is like a pea shooter
