this variator is to the varplus as the varplus is to the stock variator, which is to say its a 100% improvement in all aspects of functionality. the biggest difference is that its smooth, smooth, smooth. form the moment it hits all the way up through the power band there is absolutely no vibration and almost no dead spots. in fact, it basically feels like you start IN the powerband, and things only get better from there. add to that the fact that it is completely easy to install (literally a tighten one nut), and its superiority in every way becomes more evident. yes, its slightly annoying to have to jam in a folded piece of paper to start it every time, but i dont feel like paying $250 for a clutch pulley. only drawback is that for maybe a second while the engine spins up it bogs, though its not really a bog in the traditional sense; more like a slight hesitation. either way, its way, way less of a bog/hesitation than either a stock or kitted+ varplus moby. i'm already in love with this thing, and its one of the last important components of my av7 supermoby build. completely worth the $150 or so if you're going for a serious build.
