as mentioned earlier, its a 17325, BUT its a HAIR loose, so as expected, a moby sized 17321 is perfect.
yeah, you loose a little low end, but you wont care with a minimum increase of 10mph

so is an urban express like a noped hobbit?
I can't keep all the expresses straight, there's so manny different models.
moto, tell me your not rocking an express?
its all true. yes im riding an URBAN express, which should NOT be confused with the limp dick express.
nopeds are the only option around here unfortunately. HOWEVER i saw an urban at gender bender and thought it was rad, then mine came around.
the bad:
its a noped
the good:
near mint
only 185 miles on it when i bought it
case inducted
variated
beefy
rad seat
electric start
yep, its a winner. and screw it, it does 35 stock with my ass on it.
Whoa, nice. Is that 10mph on a stock bike?
you get a carb/intake/pipe for it yet?
Throw a sweaty dick on that thing
Works wonders
yep, that 10 mph gain is on a stock bike.
no, havent kitted yet, looks like its gonna be my winter project, as well as putting disk brakes up front
and yes, its powered by unicorn magic and sweaty dicks
if you can check out honda Dio stuff- some of it may fit better than hobbit.
thanks for the heads up! im assuming you mean the early horizontal motors. the intakes look pretty close, kinda hard to tell though :/
I tried about 10 different belts on my Urban. The best performance I got was with a Gates BX-31 cogged v-belt major increase and correwct length 9 bucks
I can't wait till Josh has blaster express; "cool guys" everywhere will be brought to tears by a fat man, in wizard pants, on a dork-mobile.
urban expresses can be insanely fast. thats whats great about the honda express engines, ported to the moon already, case-inducted with reeds stock. its like the ultimate bolt-performance-parts-up-and-go engine.
'09 year of the urban express?
i seen it! i seen it with my own eyes! a proper belt was haulin moto's big ol' lovely body around all kinds a fast just the other day.. i put a Gates BX- whatever on a customer's urban the other day and it flew!
it aint no express its an _urban_ express!
yea for drunk posting!
The variator might be closer than a a hobbit's , I think. Looks that way in the microfische. may be totally wrong.
Never worked on a Hobbit but from the pics that I've seen, I believe that the variator is smaller on the Urbans and Dios. I'm running a Pre-1991 KOSO - Dio variator w/ mod'd bushing to fit the Urban shaft.
The details of the mods I made is in Wiki. Search: Urban Variator
anyone know if any of this stuff is compatible?

That's awesome moto!
where did you purchase the moby belt at?
thanks
no no, thank boston dave, all credit to him
The clutch and large torque spring for an early pre-1993 Dio fit the Urban and many other bikes.
I'm running Polini torque spring (blue: heavy) and a Malossi Adjustable Delta Fly clutch.
Here's a write up I did for Wiki describing my experience.

Here's a list of ALL of the models that use this same clutch & spring. It's a pretty universal size for many of the small scooters and bikes of the time. The clutch bell is the same too w/ 22Teeth, but I didn't bother to buy one.

how many of these mods can be done to a normal express?
None, they have a chain primary drive system.
FYI- Honda still sells the stock NU50 belt, and you can find it online.
It is a Mitsuboshi (not to be confused with mitsubishi) and the part numer is 23100-197-003. (The belt has p/n 23100-197-0030 writen on it, which you cannot find if you search for it online. You must remove that last zero.) It is about $36-$40 which is kind of pricy for a belt, but at least you know it's the right one.
I just got mine in from a hoda powersports dealership, and now along with removing the old grease from my variator (why is it there in the first place except to mess you up) and adding 6 x 8g weights, she pings the speedo no problem. Worked better for me than the gatorback belts mentioned at the begining of this post, more even acceleration.
