za50 carb mount threading removable?

† CH∆D † /

Im trying to make a riser for my 15mm intake. Figured out how, but now I realize the stock "what should be bolts" are threaded into the casing without a head. Can I just use pliers etc to get them out & use a longer bolt to handle my riser?

I hope its clear enough to grasp. Not to good with my wordzezez.

Thanks.

Chad

Use 2 nuts and lock them together on the stud you wish to remove. As in loosen bottom one and tighten the top one so they come together. Then just put a wrench on the lower one and back out the stud.

Yep. And do the reverse of this to put new ones in. Tighten the top nut to screw em in.

K Ive tried this. I got the uber tight & it wouldnt back out.

Were these formed into the cases? Or tapped in? Im taking it to our local fastener shop right now to see if they can help.

Uhuh.

Re: za50 carb mount threading removable?

They were tapped in. Hit it with a little WD40 and try again. If that doesn't work, go to Sears and get a stud puller.
