1979 sachs g3 setups

whats the best set up for this bike im turning it into a semi cafe racer so i need it faster.

Re: 1979 sachs g3 setups

Probably just a 5051d engine, a 15/15 dellorto carb, a pipe and a smaller rear sprocket. That will give you upper 30s without putting to much stress on the engine.

Definitely get the 505 1d engine though. Best upgrade ever.

Re: 1979 sachs g3 setups

swapping out an entire engine for a couple more cc seems kinda silly to me. you can use what you have and go pretty good. the best upgrade ever is actually a good pipe.

Re: 1979 sachs g3 setups

find a good clutch and get the athena reed valve kit, then make a peugeot polini pipe fit

also a nice 19 or 21mm carb and fit a cdi on the bike

then kiss the clutch by by

Re: 1979 sachs g3 setups

hey dudes ive got that 1d cylinder i can bolt on my motor but i need to know if the cranks are different because i think ill have to swap a bunch of parts togethere from the other motors i have kickin around. im going to combine different bottom ends electrical and gears and clutch parts to make one good motor so maybe that will help me out. i also want to know if i can put a puch bing 14 mm on it and will it go fast with that. thanks guys

Re: 1979 sachs g3 setups

the d and c cylinders are the same. it's the crank that's different. read the sachs performance thread that's going on right now and learrrrrn

Re: 1979 sachs g3 setups

THe D cylinders are square on the head and the A is rounded

the big change is the stroke of the D and the carb on them is larger

Re: 1979 sachs g3 setups

Carb on D's also has an emulsion tube instead of a needle.
