spark plug question

Baltard Drought /

My current spark plug could use replacing, its pretty much black, along with the rest of the head... I'm currently running a 70cc mallossi kit, with a ninja g3 and 19mm phbg. This is on my peugeot 103. It is currently at the heat range 6, would I want to stay here or get a colder/hotter plug? and how can I get that carbon buildup off the head?

Re: spark plug question

steel wool or fine grit sandpaper will get that carbon off the head.

if you're not running a high compression head, it'd probably be best to stick with the plug range the engine was designed for, and just adjust the carb jetting to keep your plug from fouling out. I assume when you say you're at 6, you mean by NGK spark plug code. because other plugs use other codes, like NGK B6HS = bosch W8AC or NGK B5HS = Bosch W8AB

yea very sorry about that, it was an NGK plug. Now would you call a 50cc head on a 70cc kit high comp? and thanks for the tip on the carbon removal :)
