Quality Tires For My Garelli Sport

HI there all,

I am in desperate need of tires, ones not older than myself.

who has a reliable source for ped tires?

p.s.- I have a 1980 garelli sport and don't know what size I could get.

(bigger would be better, as I am not trying to wipe out on trolley tracks anymore)

You can try the on-line tire places, but locally I get them from a motorcycle dealer who sells them to me cheaper, and without a shipping charge.

No matter the width of the tire, the contact area is about the same (very narrow), in an upright, riding condition. That "is the way" of tires for 2 wheel vehicles, it allows you to maintain tire contact when cornering, and is how your tire/vehicle is designed. If you are having trouble with railway/trolley tracks it is the way you are operating your 2 wheeled vehicle, not a tire "problem". "Bigger" may not fit within the confines of your fork/swingarm, so check carefully, tires are not a returnable item.

Re: Quality Tires For My Garelli Sport

big tires are slow. 225s or smaller. and you need 16"

Re: Quality Tires For My Garelli Sport

i run 2.50's on mine and yes it is slower but they are nice and sticky, corners like a dream. If you're going with a stock setup i'd say stick with 2.25's and cruise. Kitted bikes i'd rather be a little slower and have better grip for cornering, but that's just me.
