after looking at the jemco I realized that it's only a 5 peice pipe(single stage divergent) and is super simple. Here's a couple pics of the pipe I made.
This one is a 7 peice not including the ton of relief cuts(three stage divergent). I want someone to measure their Jemco's dimensions(across the top and bottom) and shoot them to me. There's no reason for THAT pipe to cost $200+.
Well its hand made, literally. Also I have never heard anyone complain about the quality or performance of one. That combined with the fact that its THEE only option for townys/qts, means its worth 200 to a lot of dudes.
Last I contacted the guy, he was all take it or leave it and way behind on orders, like he couldn't keep up with demand.
If I were you, I would find a used expansion chamber from some other 50cc non variated bike, and hack and weld it.
Or you can et one of those cheapo pocket bike pipes off of e-bay. I was very pleased with the speed it gave me on my express. They cost like 40-50 shipped, so its not gonna break the bank even if you had to buy another stock pipe.
What? I didn't want critism or other options I want to build the jemco design. I hand roll my pipes so copying a jemco wouldn't be hard and that it's single divergent could probably be improved upon.
He's not criticizing, he's pointing out the difference between cost and value.
well it cost me about $10.00 to make my own.
So... the value to you is less than the value of the Jemco to many of the owners of it on here.
considering the exhaust port on a pw50/qt50 is 20mm and on a yt60 it's 22mm the jemco can be improved upon.
the jemcos head pipe is much bigget then 22 mm
It wouldn't run right if the head pipe inlet was bigger than even 20mm since the pw50 has a 20mm exhaust port flange. The yt60's is 22mm. measure and see for yourself.
