Good idea for an express. or hobbit

Okay, so we all know already that the minarelli horizontal cylinders work on hobbits and expresses. i work at a scooter shop, and i had assumed, but finally verifired, that our best bikes are all minarellia based.

the 50s of this brand, genuine, all do about 50 if well broken in, and we also do quite a few performance cylinders on them, so we have lots of spare 50cc cylinders. sooo now i got the okay to have them and i'm gonna use them on my express. the ports are huge so i'm gonna build up the case with some special case epoxy i have.

i may need to make a blower, but hopefully regular air cooled does it with a coldish plug.

A bunch of people are doing this already with great success, so you should have very little to no problems getting it done, especially with readily available parts at the scooter shop. What kind of "case" epoxy do you use?

I did notice that, at least on my express, the bolt holes don't quite match up. Its REALLY close, and looks like they should, but you will have to drill out the holes on the cylinder/head.

the case epoxy i'm using is called pc-7. it's a nice 2 piece stuff that works awesome. i've used it on cracked carb bowls, and intake manifolds that were drilled out too far. the holes line up, everything fits good.

What about the other way?

I have a pile of Minarelli V1 bottoms. For some reason, people around Pittsburgh spent the 1980s blowing up V1 cylinders, and then spent the dubya double-0s selling the remaining parts to me for almost no monies.

I also have a pile of Express parts, including a spare cylinder and head.

I'm missing a piston that will fit both a V1 crank and Express cylinder, or I'd give this combo a shot...

I donno if the new minarelli horizontal cylinder style scooters have the same bore/stroke as the old minarelli V engines.

Confirm?
