yea it's normal. some pipes conflict with the pedals.
You could try and find a magnum pedal setup. I think there are some others that would clear as well.
thanks ill have to try that.

a motobecane pedal shaft would work as well, they're available at handybikes but you'll need to source a pedal sproket.
Bend the pedal arm. ya don't have to bend it much. Easy/cheap fix.
ive tried bending my arms before because theyre bent in a little.it didnt work
Heat it then bend it..works much better..
thats a good idea...thanks!
If you slide a long pipe over the pedal arm for some leverage it's super easy...
^ Long pipe is the ticket. take pedal off, leave arm on. slide pipe over arm, tweek outwards, pedal now clears.
Heat will trash the chrome.
ive tried gettin the pedal off but its stuck
reverse thread on the pedals,, and use a hammer to hit the wrench clockwise..
the same thing happened to me.
someone cross threaded the left ped.
yup. heat & hammer.
yeah, i think the right ones cross threaded too
I bent my left pedal arm out, and to get the pedal to sit at a 90 degree from the arm, I hooked the threaded hole end up to a vice and bent the rest and ended up warping the threads, so clamp the vice a little further up the arm from the hole.
The smoothest setup is a puch two-speed pedal crank, with shorty pedal arms. I just did this, and I'm in love. I swapped freewheel sprockets and put on a 16 tooth, so it makes up for the lack of leverage that the shorty arms allow. It super cruises with very little effort now. Misses the chamber and the stinger very tastefully. I highly recommend this to everyone. But rare/sweet pedal crank setups cost too damn much.
I just took it off and put it on the cement floor and hit it with a sledge took two seconds
That works too... Not as easy as the pipe method though.
I heated it up with a torch and bent it out slightly by hitting it with a hammer. I also ground down the pedals and the pedal crank slightly so I wouldn't have to bend the crank as much.
