Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

Anyone got suggestions, I got a 21mm phbg and the doppler, I know it can be slightly overkill, stock variatior ;( anyone got any advice, on what jetting should be etc...

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

way overkill, stock case?

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

Yup stock case.

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

i disagree that that is overkill. that kit BREATHES. check the tuning spreadsheet for ideas about jetting.

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

my setup is a polini race case with malossi gr2 LC 50cc cylinder and 11x56 gearing, doppler pipe, 16mm phbg carb, and variotop variator and clutch pulley. It pretty much will take any bike right of the line.. can't think of any bike I've been next to that it doesn't out accelerate right of the line. I'm running a W9 needle with the clip second down from the top notch and a 81 main jet. Oh yeah, if you have that cylinder and depending on the what kit it is you might need 11x59 gearing to get it up on the pipe with the stock clutch and variator. My kit needs over 7500 rpm to even start to get on the pipe.

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

Thanks, I was thinking that 50cc polini might be able to consume as much as 21mm carb will give it, I bet I could get it to scream, but it wouldn't be stoplight to stoplight scenario friendly, 70cc would be nice, but until 50cc polini w port blows it'll have to do, so all I can say to that is well.... Meow.. =^_^=

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

my malossi gr2 50cc is faster then my malossi 70cc... Faster off the line and around the same the in the mid then pulls to much higher rpms for faster speeds without any porting work done to either cylinder, just case match to the polini race case. But the clutch pulley was the magic sauce for the 50cc. The 70cc has enough torque to pull the bike into the powerband the 50cc needs the HP generated with the pipe to pull you along.

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

Hey nele, so your building a peugeot!! I am working on one too. I ordered the 70cc w port polini, polini case, high compression head and polini pipe. Let me know how yours turns out I'll have to check it out next time i am in omaha.

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

Hey guys don't leave me out, I wanna play too. Mine is slowly, very slowly, but surely starting to come together in Eddie's garage. Also if either one of you want that variotop with the clutch function I am sure I can strike up a pretty sweet deal. I is gonna be one wacky time when all of these are done.

PS my puch is finally running well, swapped out the needle and re jetted, the clutch plate seems to be rubbing a bit but I am to busy getting friends' bikes together to really look at it.

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

Sorry eric we won't leave you out. I will call you later on that varitop. I am interested.

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

Would adjusting the clutch solve my takeoff problem, since thing doesn't want to rev up, it'll get going If I push it up to 5 mph, would I get clutch to grab later by taking balls out of it, i'm thinking that it might solve my problem, since 50cc isn't torquey as stock one was.

sir thaddeusforemen /

hey can i join guys? Just got a peugeots & i do not understand a word any of you said. LOL I'd like to see your builds & hwo you guys gona have it set up

Re: Tuning peugeot 50cc w cylinder

You could remove balls to delay the engagement point, but that'll also probably destroy your clutch right quick...

Step up and get a good var and clutch pulley. You'll poop your pants w/ glee! I promise :D
