When i run my 1979 batavus starflite top tank the engine is a laura m48, it makes alot of blue smoke. The ratio is 50:1. It will get up to 30 mph, but with very low compression and acceleration. Is all this blue smoke normal? What could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated! Thanx

I thought blue smoke was too rich and white smoke was blown seal? How's your spark plug look? Is it really black and carbon-y?

Do you have that really cheap two stroke oil for boats in it. The marine use one.?

Blue is burning oil. The hint is that you said low compression. Pull the head and check the cylinder for scratches , a quick hone job and a new ring should fix you up .
