is there any actual mechanical necessity to use that larger, variator-side mount? can i just use two of the ride side mounts and ditch that plastic sleeve for the swivel bolt?

i dont think i've even bought a left and right side.. i think they are all the smaller diameter
oh man. haha using a variator-side mount has not crossed my mind since the first time i lost one of the plastic sleeve inserts. every set of bushings ive bought thus far have been identical to each other... same IDs.
you can no problem. the idea of the larger ID on the variator side is that with less rubber it'll flex less due to the belt tension/variation.
I put the smaller in the new pmfm it seems good.
The only thing I can think of as a reason for this is it's a way to reliably stiffen the rubber mount on the side that gets the tourque from the belt on it. Less rubber less flex available?
Anyone else got a better reason?
